We were staying in Dauphin Island and did not realize that all the restaurants fill up without reservations. So we ended up driving to Baudean’s! It was a really good option! It was a laid back restaurant, maybe alittle busier than usual though (it seemed like a lot of people had drove there because of the lack of food options in Dauphin Island). I got the fish of the day dinner. It was a grilled mahi mahi fish with corn on the cob and toast! It was really good and the price point was great! One other in our party got the open face roast beef sandwich - I would say that it was pretty average. You can definitely tell seafood is their specialty and that is probably the menu items to stick to. I would definitely go back in the future though!
The food was great! They have a full bar. Very clean and family friendly. Go early because there is a wait during busy season. We enjoyed the hushpuppies, chicken tenders, shrimp and seafood alfredo. Their ranch and vinegarette dressings are homemade.
The food here was absolutely amazing !!!!!!! On the appetizer we had the kaboom shrimp and they was honestly about the best shrimp we have ever had. The large hamburger steak with mashed potatoes was also delicious. Oh and the dessert speak for themselves. Our server was Ms.Debra she was sweet and took really good care of us. I would definitely eat here again without any hesitation. I would give this place 6 starts if that was an option.
The fish was seasoned perfectly just like Uncle Ed would prepare after a four Miller Lites. The only disappointment with the Shrimp was I only received six instead of 46. They were plump and delicious. Great atmosphere. You could tell this was a popular local gathering place. You must eat here.
A very homey feeling place. Not fancy, but inviting. I am very critical when it comes to the preperation of fried shrimp and fried oysters. This place does not disappoint. The oysters were fried perfectly. The batter was not heavy but it was still crisp. The oysters themselves were moist and creamy on the inside, in a word, beautiful. The shrimp had also been given care in the prep and finish. This was my first trip to Baudean's. I will be back to sample more of their items. They have a full bar. My mother really enjoyed her "Bushwhacker."
I absolutely love this place so much the people are great the food is great everything is great I will definitely go back we already go quite a few times I highly recommend this place
March 2025 Monday night - All you can eat crab legs. I think we spent around $50 each. With this, you got either gumbo or Cole slaw and then a Salad. The crab legs came out with lemon, a boiled potato and half a corn on the cob. More Crab legs came out within a few minutes of asking for more. Crab legs were steamed and tasty with the butter sauce. Hubby loved the Cole slaw. The gumbo was just ok. I’m from St. Louis, and I enjoy the crab leg boils in a bag out here with all the seasonings. That averages about $35, but it’s not all you can eat. We also got the alligator as an appetizer. I’ve had better at a place in PCB, this was a little chewy, but I think alligator is a chewy meat anyway. Over all It was a nice experience. I would say it’s just too pricey, but I knew that coming in. I loved the lady’s accents here. Our server was very sweet, she was busy but still was able to get us everything we asked for in a timely manner.
Not a high end restaurant, but a good place to eat. Prices are inline with anywhere else. 5 star because our service was excellent. We had 11 people, and she worked with us to split it how we needed to. Even let us do the tip, how we wanted to do that. All good for me. Went back again this year. Still good food. The 2 women working there, I felt bad for. They were almost running trying to keep up. Definitely need more help here.
